Other Freshman Scholarships Buchanan Scholarship • Application at mtsu.edu/honors due Dec. 1

• Highest award given to MTSU freshmen

• Limited to 20 students per year

• Full tuition waiver for four years, book allowance, special seminars, priority registration, priority consideration for study abroad, and much more

DREAM Scholarship • Application at mtsu.edu/scholarships

• HOPE Lottery Scholarship-eligible freshmen

• To help build a diverse student body

• $2,000 per academic year

National Merit Scholarship • Priority deadline is February 15.

• Students must submit the letter from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation verifying their Semifinalist status or from the College Board for the National Hispanic Recognition Program.

• Awards are based on PSAT scores.

• No separate scholarship application is required for National Merit, National Achievement, or National Hispanic Scholarships.

Transfer Scholarships Transfer Promise Guaranteed Scholarship • Apply to MTSU by Feb. 15

• $3,000 per year for two years (four semesters max)

• 3.0 overall college GPA and 60 earned credit hours prior to enrolling in MTSU

• Must be enrolling in the fall semester

Honors Transfer Fellowship • Application at mtsu.edu/honors due Feb. 15

• Awarded to 30 students per year

• $3,500 a semester in-state ($7,000 out-of-state) for up to four semesters

All Students Foundation and Departmental Scholarships • Must apply to MTSU by Feb. 15

• 700 endowed or other scholarships

• Awarded annually to 2,000 students

• Sponsored by academic and administrative departments

Financial Aid Breakdown MTSU is a great fit for students who qualify for the HOPE Lottery Scholarship. And if you also qualify for the full federal Pell Grant, you could attend MTSU with no out-of-pocket tuition costs! In addition to the HOPE Lottery Scholarship and the Pell Grant, students may qualify for guaranteed academic scholarships as a transfer or freshman student.
