TRUE TESTIMONIES

Here are some letters from other True Blue parents and family.

Homeschooling parents, take heart! As a homeschooling family (K–12), I was a little hesitant and concerned about sending our three kiddos to a secular school, especially one the size of MTSU. Both of our boys graduated MTSU in 2016 (one in Aerospace, the other in Political Science). We now have their sister attending (junior in Public Relations, currently serving as student body executive vice president). I can personally attest that the experience was spectacular on all three accounts! They were all three Buchanan Fellows and part of the Honors College. It was honestly everything we had prayed their college life would be like. They all have excelled (4.0) and kept their testimonies intact. MTSU was a great fit for this homeschooling family!

Sincerely,

Lorrie McDonald

Dear fellow MTSU parent,

Congratulations on the admission of your student to Middle Tennessee State University! As a parent of a current student, I want to welcome you to the MTSU family and share a couple of my thoughts about why MTSU was a great choice for our son.

Our son choose MTSU because of its location and affordable tuition. Living only a few minutes from campus, our son is a commuter. Even though he doesn’t live on campus, he still has had opportunities to meet new people and be involved through the social events provided through the Parent and Family Association.

This was our first step into the college process, and MTSU has made us feel comfortable and part of a family. Anytime there has been a question, the administration and/or professors have worked right alongside not only our son, but us as parents as well. MTSU strives to help mature our students to become strong, independent adults. They also provide a wide variety of scholastic opportunities for our son to explore and discover the various majors available to him.

I would urge you to take the time to attend CUTSOMS with your student. CUSTOMS was an opportunity for my husband and me to really see the campus, learn about the many opportunities they provide, find out about financial aid and meal plans, and just overall learn so much about MTSU.

Overall, my son has adjusted well to college life. He has made many new friends and enjoys the independence of creating his own schedule for classes. I’m so happy that we have found our college home at MTSU. Good luck as your student steps out into this new stage in life!

Sincerely, Jennifer Evoy
